Description
The GESTRA BK 212 series is a thermostatic/thermodynamic steam trap equipped with a corrosion-resistant Thermovit® regulator (stainless steel bimetallic plates), designed to withstand waterhammer conditions.
Each unit includes an internal strainer and an integrated non-return valve function.
The body seal is asbestos-free, made from graphite/CrNi material.
Suitable for installation in any orientation.
Factory settings allow the steam trap to discharge condensate with minimal subcooling, ensuring efficient performance.
Function
At system start-up, the Duo stainless steel bimetallic plates remain flat.
The service pressure acts in the opening direction, keeping the valve fully open.
As the temperature of the condensate rises, the bimetallic plates deform and gradually pull the control cone into the closed position.
As the temperature drops, the deformation decreases, and the steam trap opens at the preset discharge temperature.
The combined thermostatic and spring properties of the bimetallic plates ensure that condensate is always discharged at a defined degree of subcooling.
The trap also enables automatic air venting during both start-up and normal operation.
Additionally, the BK 212 can be used for thermal air venting in steam systems.
